Privacy Policy
Tap2Donate is a donation and payment service for mosques, charities and community organizations. It is operated by Tayseerulquran Professional Inc. ("we", "us"). This policy explains what information Tap2Donate handles, why, and the choices you have. It covers our website at tap2donate.intilaq.host, our donation pages and our Tap2Donate apps for card readers, tablets and phones.
1. Our role
Tap2Donate provides the technology. The organization you give to, or that uses Tap2Donate, decides how donor information is used, for example for tax receipts and its own records. We handle that information on the organization's behalf and under its instructions. For questions about how an organization uses your information, contact that organization. You can always contact us as well.
2. Information we collect
When you donate or register
- Donation details: the amount, date, campaign or program, and payment method.
- Card details: your full card number is handled only by our payment processor, Stripe, and never reaches our servers. From Stripe we receive the card brand, the last four digits, the expiry month and year, and a card identifier code. That code lets the organization recognize repeat gifts from the same card so it can combine them on one receipt. It cannot be used to charge your card.
- Contact details you choose to give: your name, email address, phone number and mailing address, used to send receipts and tax receipts.
- Program registrations: the details entered on a registration form, such as participant names and contact information, and the ticket chosen.
- Recurring donations: the amount, frequency and status of your monthly or weekly gift, managed through Stripe.
- PayPal donations: if you give through PayPal, we receive the payment confirmation and the details PayPal shares with us, such as your name and email address.
When an organization uses Tap2Donate
- Staff names, email addresses and sign-in details. Passwords are stored in encrypted, non-reversible form.
- Organization details shown on receipts, such as its name, charity registration number, address, phone, email and website.
- The organization's Stripe and PayPal account identifiers and settings. Secret payment keys are stored encrypted.
From devices running our apps
- A random identifier created when the device is paired, the device model name and when it was last used.
- Location: our apps ask for location permission because Stripe requires it to accept in-person card payments securely. Location is used by Stripe's software on the device. We do not store your device's location.
- Settings saved on the device itself, such as fast mode.
Technical information
- IP addresses, browser or device type, and server logs, used for security and to fix problems.
- Cookies needed to keep staff signed in to the dashboard. We do not use advertising cookies.
- If a payment fails, the reason reported by the payment processor, so the organization can see what went wrong.
3. How we use information
- To process donations, payments and program registrations.
- To send receipts and tax receipts when the organization or donor requests them.
- To show organizations their donations, donors and reports.
- To recognize returning donors so receipts can be combined.
- To troubleshoot failed payments, keep the service secure and prevent fraud.
- To meet legal, tax and accounting obligations.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
4. Who we share it with
- The organization you donate to or register with.
- Stripe, which processes card payments. See Stripe's Privacy Policy.
- PayPal, if you choose to give through PayPal. See PayPal's Privacy Statement.
- Service providers that host our servers and deliver email, only as needed to run Tap2Donate.
- The organization's own systems, if it connects them to Tap2Donate. For example, an organization can have donations recorded in its own website's records.
- Authorities, when the law requires it, or to protect the rights and safety of donors, organizations or us.
- A successor, if Tap2Donate is transferred as part of a business change. This policy would continue to apply.
5. Where information is stored
Information is stored on servers operated for us and by our payment providers. It may be stored or processed in Canada, the United States or other countries, where local laws may differ from those where you live.
6. How long we keep it
We keep donation and receipt records while the organization uses Tap2Donate, and afterwards for as long as needed for the organization's records and legal obligations. Canadian charities, for example, must keep donation receipt records for several years. Technical logs are kept for a shorter period. When information is no longer needed, we delete it or make it anonymous.
7. How we protect it
All connections use encryption (HTTPS). Card numbers are handled only by Stripe, which is certified to the payment card industry's security standard. Payment keys are stored encrypted, and access to the dashboard requires a password. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect the information we hold.
8. Your choices and rights
- You can give without providing your name, email or address. You won't receive an emailed receipt unless you give an email address.
- You can ask to see, correct or delete your information. Contact the organization you gave to, or email us at info@tayseerulquran.com. We'll reply within 30 days.
- Some records, such as issued tax receipts, may need to be kept to meet legal obligations even if you ask us to delete them.
- You can turn off location permission for our apps in your device settings. Card payments on that device will not work while it is off.
- If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
9. Children
Tap2Donate is not directed at children under 13. Registrations for children's programs should be completed by a parent or guardian.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Tap2Donate changes. We will post the new version here with a new effective date, and tell organizations about important changes.
